{Santa Barbara Outdoor Photography} Beach Baby
I first photographed this little family when “T” was an itty bitty thing, just days old. Look at him now, about to turn one and running all over the place, amazing how fast the time passes once you have a child. I really wanted this to be a fun session to celebrate such a big milestone and also give this sweet little family some great memories of their trip, since they were back visiting Santa Barbara from up north, where they now live. We covered lots of ground during this session, from balloons in the woods, to the Ellwood Bluffs, and a visit to the tide-pools for a gorgeous sunset. You can certainly see how “T” has a love for the beach and the water, attempting to go in even though it was probably 40 degrees
Thank you so much for the fun afternoon!
{Santa Barbara Family Photographer} Plus One
I was so happy to finish up my season of holiday photo sessions with this special family! Mama and I have known each other since we were 5 in kindergarten, the same age my son is now. It’s now a joy to see her own family grow, last time I photographed them they were four- with the addition of a new baby comes another reason for an updated family shot, and for that I am glad. This session was so fun, the colors were perfect, and it was yet another beautiful Santa Barbara evening. Oh and those three kiddos aren’t hard on the eyes, right?
Thank you H Family!! XOXOX

{Extended Family Photo Session} Lucky 13
What a fun session I have to share with you! Members from this big family came from all over including New York and Colorado for Thanksgiving so they decided to throw in a photo session in their hometown of Santa Barbara, and I’m glad they did- it was a blast capturing all the personalities of this group
And even in the midst of Winter, the Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens was as beautiful as always, a perfect backdrop for this lovely family!

{California Family Photos} J Family
I was so excited when fellow photographer Alli Jacobs contacted me about doing their family photos. We had met previously during a Bloom forum meetup I threw here in Santa Barbara last Spring, and Alli is just as sweet as can be- I knew her family would be the same ![]()
We had such a good time during this session- they were up for anything so we did a bit of exploring of downtown Santa Barbara, covering the Urban Wine Trail and lastly, the beautiful sunset of East Beach and the wharf. Thank you J Family for coming all the way from Laguna Niguel for your session, it was a blast! (and your little man is pretty dang cute too)

the gorgeous Santa Barbara view we finished with~
Project 52 {Week 26} Independence
This week for the 52 project the theme is Independence. I missed out on last week’s theme of red, white and blue, so I thought I could share a few snaps of Z enjoying a little Independence Day festivities. This year was the first year we took him to see the fireworks in Santa Barbara and he loved it! of course they were preceded with a day of fun in the sun, and a yummy rib dinner. It was a great day, can’t you tell by the grin?
Please do the full 52 circle, starting with a super fun friend of mine, Amy Craft, a San Antonio Photographer
