I don’t know what it is about newborn baby boys I photograph, they always seem to be so alert, with big sparkling eyes! At a mere 7 days old sweet little Taj was no exception, with his baby blues that matched the gorgeous ocean themed decor of his nursery. We even had a little photo session “impostor” of the canine variety, Taj’s Mommy and Daddy’s first child

Oh I just love what I do… I have been blessed with the most awesome beautiful clients and their children and this family is definitely no exception. I have to admit I was SO excited to have a little girl to shoot, I mean I heart my boys, but this sweet cherub in pink is just what the Dr. ordered And this session marks a Z’s the Day first, that would be a family including the “furry” member, their firstborn Charlie

{Santa Barbara Child Photographer} Smirk {I Heart Faces}
When I saw that this weeks theme was “Smirk” over at I Heart Faces, I knew immediately what photo I would be using. This November marks Z’s the Day Photography’s One Year Anniversary, and it has been such a fun, photographic journey for me- this shot was from my second paid photo session ever, and while it took a little work to get this little angel to warm up to me, it wasn’t long before her inner diva came out and boy, after that she gave me some great shots, this one being my favorite. You really can’t get a better “smirk” than this lol. Now I look forward to photographing her again this year, with her beautiful Mama, Daddy, and baby brother (or sister!)

I know what you’re thinking, this is a bit more than just a sneak peek When faced with the daunting task of choosing a few shots from this amazing session to blog, I knew it would be no easy feat- pretty impossible in fact. I had so much fun with this little family, they were up for anything, and so laid back and sweet they made my job easy- we crammed 4 locations in our time together, and they never skipped a beat. Can you believe how gorgeous little “W’s” eyes are??? Reminds me of the brilliant aqua tide-pools I posted here! I guess he has great genes, because, look at Mom and Dad !

{Santa Barbara Newborn Photographer} Newborn Love
Well, here it is, my first “official” newborn session, and I couldn’t have asked for a better baby boy to work with, he took a little coaxing into slumber-land, but once he was there, oh my! those lips, that perfect skin, it really doesn’t get any better. And when he was awake, he was AWAKE! super cute and alert for a mere 14 days old. I know this precious baby {C} was a wonderful blessing, especially for his rockin’, ass kicking, breast cancer survivor Mama. Congratulations to {B} & {M}, this little boy will amaze you and change your life forever…
