Project 52 {Week 28} Summer
For those who don’t know, I participate in a weekly themed project with several other photographers from all over the world, this week the theme is Summer. Other themes we have done in the past include movement, texture, and nature. I thought for this week, nothing says Summer like an icy cold Popsicle after a swim in the kiddie pool ![]()

To go through the complete circle (and see everyone’s fun interpretations), next visit the wonderful Christine Blaylock, an Illinois Photographer, to see what “Summer” means to her!
{Santa Barbara Courthouse Elopement Photos} I Do
I’m so excited to share the beautiful elopement of this lovely couple from Seattle. When I asked why they came all the way to Santa Barbara to elope, they told me our courthouse is one of the most famous courthouses in the U.S.- really? I have lived here for almost 38 years and did not even know that! Well they wanted to incorporate a very “Santa Barbara” location for their pre-ceremony portraits so I knew the gorgeous Mission would be a great spot, full of warm rich colors, textures and architectural elements. It was followed by a heartfelt short ceremony and a few more photos in and around the courthouse. It is only fitting that this sweet couple has such a romantic trip and elopement in Santa Barbara, they have the best “love story” (which I am not going to tell, but they know)

{Santa Barbara Family Vacation Photographer} A Trip to the Coast
Santa Barbara is really the perfect place for a getaway, full of sandy beaches, mountain views, great food and entertainment- it’s no wonder in the last couple of years I have photographed so many sweet families here for vacation, wanting a session when they are relaxed and in that coastal California mode. These three came from Sacramento for a whole week of fun and sun, and if I didn’t already live in Santa Barbara I sure would be jealous! It was the usual busy afternoon down on Cabrillo Boulevard but they took it in stride, even little “T” was as sweet as can be. And the icing on the cake was when a sea lion came by to check out their photo shoot at East Beach
Please leave this beautiful family a little BLOG LOVE, every comment earns them a print credit!

{Santa Barbara SURF Family Photos} Catch a Wave
“Surfing, alone among sports, generates laughter at its very suggestion, and this is because it turns not a skill into an art, but an inexplicable and useless urge into a vital way of life.”
~Matt Warshaw
What a fun sneak peek I have to share with you today! When this family told me they wanted to incorporate some surfing images into their photo session, I was super excited and knew exactly the perfect Carpinteria spot to meet up at. These three boys were loads of fun, all very unique with different personalities that really show in these photos
Not only that, but didn’t Mom do a fabulous job with their outfits?? Now that is the way to dress for a quintessential Santa Barbara beach photo shoot! And a special shout out to my own Mom, who suggested using the watermelon.. It was a hit!
Please show this fantastic family of five some BLOG LOVE, every comment gets them a print credit!

Project 52 {Week 26} Independence
This week for the 52 project the theme is Independence. I missed out on last week’s theme of red, white and blue, so I thought I could share a few snaps of Z enjoying a little Independence Day festivities. This year was the first year we took him to see the fireworks in Santa Barbara and he loved it! of course they were preceded with a day of fun in the sun, and a yummy rib dinner. It was a great day, can’t you tell by the grin?
Please do the full 52 circle, starting with a super fun friend of mine, Amy Craft, a San Antonio Photographer
