Project 52 {Week 19} Water

For his week’s project 52 that I participate in over at The Bloom Forum, the theme is “water”. Since we had some showers all week here in Santa Barbara, I thought it would be a great opportunity to photograph my favorite “water” subject- raindrops on flowers and plants :-)
So here is a little variety pack of macro droppies…

Next in the water circle, is Liza Hall who always has some great creative images to share, please take a look!

{Santa Barbara Maternity Photographer} Little Dragonfly

Back when I was expecting my first child, I never would have imagined that five years later I would be a photographer, photographing someone else’s baby bump. I never thought to have maternity photos done when I was pregnant, not only did I feel frumpy and unattractive, but my thoughts of maternity images usually involved studio shots with a plain background, usually in black and white and with some sort of weird white fabric draped around certain parts. Yuck. So not me. Now that I look back at snapshots taken of me while pregnant, I realize, Hey! I didn’t look so bad. I looked glowy and well…rested. Perhaps that’s because those were the last few months I would get at least 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night. :-) Well maternity pregnancy has come a long way, now they can be fun, fresh, and taken in the woods, at the beach, in a meadow… or in the case of this session at another beautiful Santa Barbara location, all of the above.
This lovely {newlywed} couple are VA transplants, celebrating the upcoming birth of their first child, a baby girl. Don’t they just glow? So sweet and in love.

Be sure to give them a bit of Blog Love, every comment earns them a print credit!

{Santa Barbara Photographer} The Fair

This was our second trip to the Santa Barbara Fair and Expo with Z… The first I blogged about HERE when my blog was just brand new :-)
So as we walked through the fairgrounds, I gazed up at the huge Ferris wheel thinking “wow, it will be great to get some fun aerial shots from up there!” Spent a good hour convincing Z to go on it with us, then as soon as that thing started up, I felt my heart drop into my stomach, and spent the next 10 minutes gripping Z’s hand with my eyes closed as tight as I could get them. So it’s safe to say I never got those aerial shots… and that I’m not a fan of the Ferris wheel. :-)
